The water’s bliss

Amie Elizabeth wolo

Water lilies are truly remarkable aquatic plants that carry immense symbolism in various cultures and art forms. When considering my painting and its connection to the Every Breath We Take exhibition, I feel that water lilies have the power to evoke a deep sense of tranquillity, balance, and interconnectedness with nature.

In my artwork, I chose to incorporate water lilies because of the serene presence they possess. These delicate blooms often embody purity and enlightenment, serving as a reminder that even amidst the chaos of the world, we can find inner peace.

Like water lilies, we have the ability to rise above adversity and showcase our beauty and resilience, even in the most challenging environments.

Within the context of the Every Breath We Take exhibition, water lilies take on an even greater significance. They become a visual metaphor for the fragile state of our environment and the urgent need for its preservation.

Just as water lilies depend on clean and unpolluted waters to thrive, our planet relies on us to take care of its ecosystems and precious resources.

By depicting water lilies in my painting, I aim to highlight the importance of environmental awareness and intensify the delicate balance between humanity and nature.

By incorporating water lilies into my artwork for the Every Breath We Take exhibition, I believe I can create a captivating visual narrative that emphasises the connection we share with the environment.

It serves as a reminder of the urgent need to protect our planet for future generations, while also celebrating the beauty and resilience found in nature.
