"Seed the Change" is an interactive installation nestled amongst the branches of a silver birch tree, inviting you to consider your relationship with London's urban ecosystem and the air we breathe. By transforming your hopes and pledges for cleaner air into tangible acts of environmental restoration, you become an active participant in shaping a greener future for our city.

In a year marked by a record number of elections affecting an unprecedented number of global citiEns worldwide, your individual commitment, like a vote cast in a ballot box, becomes a powerful symbol of hope and a promise for change. Through the simple act of sowing native wildflower seeds, you contribute to a collective narrative of air purification, biodiversity, and community action. As wildflowers organically bloom across the city, sprouting in the random paths we wander, we will witness the interconnected cycle of hope, action, and nature’s response.

How to Participate:

1.) Pledge: Write your personal plea or promise for a cleaner London on a plantable wildflower tag.
2.) Plant: Take a packet of native wildflower seeds and scatter them in a chosen urban location.
3.) Share: Document your commitment on social media using #everybreathwetake #seedthechange #livinglondon.

As the exhibition progresses and wildflowers bloom across the city, our collective impact will become visible. At the exhibition's conclusion, all pledges and planting locations will be compiled into an archival book, a testament to our shared vision for a healthier, more vibrant London.

Let your voice be heard, and your actions take root. Together, we can seed the change for a greener future.

Sustainability information:
Everything in this exhibition is recycled, recyclable, biodegradable, compostable, plantable, or borrowed to ensure the piece is not just about sustainability but actively generates a positive impact.

Silver birch tree: Locally grown and sourced, this tree was shipped by a carbon-neutral company in an electric vehicle. It will be planted in the community after the exhibition and will sequester up to 25kg of carbon every year while removing particulate matter from the air. Sensitive to pollution themselves, the thriving tree for years to come after the exhibition will bear witness to the improving air quality of our beautiful borough.

Plant pot: Secondhand, made locally in the UK from recycled materials and is 100% recyclable.

Seed bags: Recyclable with mainstream paper recycling, sustainably manufactured in the UK from PEFC paper pulp, and plastic-free.

Seed bag stamps: Made with Getstamped.co.uk, the UK’s most sustainable stamp company, which use green eco-rubber, 100% organic components and environmentally sourced oak. As a member of the World Land Trust, they use no plastic packaging and purchase and protect 1 square meter of habitat for every order.
